Conquering a Level 10 NPC - The Normal Method - Advanced Guide

There are many ways to conquer a level 10 NPC in Evony. This is just another one.

Level 9 Rally Point and level 9 Feasting Hall

Requirements:

* The level 10 NPC must be 1-2 miles away from where you plan to attack from.

* You must have the item “War Ensign”.

* You must have lvl 10 Archery, lvl 10 Military Tradition, lvl 10 Medicine, and lvl 10 Iron Working.

* You must have at least one hero with 125+ attack.

* You must have eight heroes with 100+ attack.

* You must have 1 worker.

* You must have 1 scout.

* You must have 1 cavalry.

* You must have 1 cataphract.

* You must have 2,500 pikemen.

* You must have 2,500 swordsmen.

* You must have at least 130,000 warriors.

* You must have at least 240,000 archers.

* You must have at least 5 million food available.

Step 1:
* Move all of your heroes into the city that is 1-2 miles from the level 10 NPC. You will not have a mayor for the duration of your attacks. Move your mayor to a different city for the time being unless you plan to use him/her as an attacker.

* Move all of your troops and food into the city that is 1-2 miles from the level 10 NPC. You will have the food there to ensure that your troops are supported.

Step 2:
* Scout the level 10 NPC for a weak hero. If you have not yet read the guide to guaranteeing a weaker hero.

Step 3:
* Send 100,000 archers – 7,496 warriors – 2,500 pikemen – 2,500 swordsmen – 1 worker – 1 scout – 1 cavalry – 1 cataphract and your strongest hero (125+ attack) to attack the level 10 NPC. Before you send the troops, be sure that you have checked the War Ensign box.

* Immediately after, send 25,000 archers – 10,000 warriors and any hero (100+ attack) to attack the level 10 NPC. Before you send the troops, be sure that you have unchecked the War Ensign box.

* Immediately after, send 25,000 archers – 10,000 warriors and any hero (100+ attack)
* Immediately after, send 20,000 archers – 10,000 warriors and any hero (100+ attack)
* Immediately after, send 20,000 archers – 10,000 warriors and any hero (100+ attack)
* Immediately after, send 15,000 archers – 10,000 warriors and any hero (100+ attack)
* Immediately after, send 15,000 archers – 10,000 warriors and any hero (100+ attack)
* Immediately after, send 10,000 archers – 10,000 warriors and any hero (100+ attack)
* Immediately after, send 10,000 archers – 10,000 warriors and any hero (100+ attack)

It’s ok if you don’t have the exact number of 25k archers or 10k warriors. As long as you have around the numbers above, you should be OK.

Step 4:
* Once your first wave has returned (about 65,000 archers) send 35,000 archers – 10,000 warriors and your strongest hero (125+ attack) to attack the level 10 NPC.

* Immediately after, send 30,000 archers – 10,000 warriors and any hero (100+ attack)
* Immediately after, send 25,000 archers – 10,000 warriors and any hero (100+ attack)
* Immediately after, send 20,000 archers – 10,000 warriors and any hero (100+ attack)
* Immediately after, send 20,000 archers – 10,000 warriors and any hero (100+ attack)
* Immediately after, send 10,000 archers – 10,000 warriors and any hero (100+ attack)

Step 5:
* Continue to repeat Step 4 until you conquer the city. Of course, your numbers will go down a little bit each time you re-send the troops. No worries, it won’t affect anything that much.

What is a Rainbow attack? - Intermediate Guide

The rainbow attacking method is very popular and effective. It gives a lot of advantage to the attacker in winning the battle. It is just a simple method yet very powerful.

The process of rainbow is simply send 1 type of every troops along with the archers.

An example of rainbow could be:

1 worker
1 warrior
1 pikeman
1 swordsman
1 cavalry
60000 archers
1 cataphract

The main reason behind this is to form a shield to protect the most powerful troops, archers.

How does just one of each troop form a shield for all those archers?
Battles are fought in rounds. In each round the defender and attacker try to kill each others troops. This battle takes place by single troop type. So for each type of troop you send you will get a extra round of firing. This can be simulated as follows

Suppose the defence (your opponent has 10000 AT)
So, the battle will be fought as follows.

Round 1
Enemy - The 10000 Archer Towers hit your 1 worker (remember in each round all of them hit a single type of troop).
You - Your 60k archers kills 2000 AT's(Archer Tower)

Round 2
Enemy - The 8000 AT's hit the kill 1 warrior.
You - Your 60k archers kills 2000 AT's

Round 3
Enemy - The 6000 AT's hit the kill your 1 Pikeman.
You - Your 60k archers kills 2000 AT's

Round 4
Enemy - The 4000 AT's hit the hit and kill your 1 swordsman.
You - Your 60k archers kills 2000 AT's

Round 5
Enemy - The 2000 AT's hit the hit your 10000 archers.
You - Your 50k archers kills 1500 AT's

Round 6
Enemy - The 500 AT's hit the kill your 500 archers.
You - You kill the rest of the at's.

Though the above process is very much simplified to give you an overall idea of the rainbow method. The opponent's level of research, level of walls, speed of different troops make a great difference. Sending the rainbow alone does not ensure you will win the battle, but sending rainbow troops are much better that sending only the archers.
